ABU DHABI – Seventeen Filipino singers were staged at the Al Breem Videoke Challenge Season 2 grand finals last Friday, December 21 at Al Nakheel Hotel & Apartments wherein four of the finalists were chosen as winners.
The finalists were judged in two different rounds, the slow song and fast song renditions based on the criteria voice quality (30%); rhythm & tempo (25%), vocal expression (15%), entertainment value or audience impact (15%) and videoke score (15%).
Tyra Vinluan who sang a unique version of the OPM hit “Till I Met You” and “Dancing Queen” garnered her highest average score of 93.88 percent and was proclaimed the champion of the Videoke Challenge. She received cash, Medicacom karaoke set, free hotel stay and gift vouchers.
The 1st runner-up was Marc Chris Canares (92.90%) who have gained the highest applaud in his “Totoy Bibo” for the fast song.
Gemma Tapong (90.88%) and Edfel Aureada (89.80%) were the 2nd and 3rd runners-up, respectively, in the contest.
The other finalists who have made it to the final show of their singing prowess were Armie Engrada, Arlene Letran, Arlene Gallosa, Miriam Laput, Richard Sanchez, EJ Jaro, Jeffy Lozarez, Elesio Viray, Ismael Babao, Geromil Belandres, Jeffrey Orbillo and Patrick Stephen Digo.
Judges of the final competition were Ms. Belle Crisolo, Edgar Santilan, Philip D. Esteves Jr. and Laliebeth Petancio.
