IIEE and PSME Abu Dhabi chapters sign agreement to strengthen collaborative programs

United Arab Emirates – Two major accredited Filipino organizations in Abu Dhabi, the IIEE Abu Dhabi and PSME Abu Dhabi chapters represented by its presidents, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a collaborative enhancement program for both parties. It was witnessed by representatives of both groups, wherein formalities were held at the Brixton Media in the capital.

The context of the MOU emphasizes the purpose to maintain strong support for every collaborative activity in dealing with finances, manpower and equipment. With the enhancement program set by both professional organizations, it will also promote its advocacies, build strong camaraderie and fellowship among members.

‘’In the industry, mechanical and electrical aspects are interrelated in such a way that both are essentials to produce energy. We came to an analogy that our organizations can work together to build a symbiotic relationship by joining hand in hand in different endeavours, in technical seminars, sports events and community volunteerisms’’, pointed out PSME Abu Dhabi President Engr. Medina Jr in an interview.

IIEE Abu Dhabi President Engr. Renante Moral added that in the aspect of technicalities the mechanical system produces electricity and when both function properly an energy is produced.

Off The Hook owners focus on expanding to create more jobs this pandemic, opens its 9th branch in DUBAI

DUBAI – In the span of five years since it opened its first branch in Abu Dhabi, Off the Hook Seafood Restaurant has nine branches now in UAE.

The recently opened branch at IBN Batuta Mall in Dubai was inaugurated by the Philippine Ambassador to the UAE, Her Excellency Hjayceelyn M. Quintana, held last June 5, 2021. The grand opening was witnessed by business partners, friends and families of the OTH circle.

When asked about the motivation and challenges in opening another branch during pandemic, Off the Hook Managing Partner Rolly Brucales said,

“Well, unang una nobody knows when this pandemic will end kaya medyo may takot in investing money at baka ay di maging successful ang store”

Despite the current unstable situation, and while other companies are cutting off manpower or even closing businesses due to Covid-19, the OTH food chain pushed to expand business and create jobs, especially for Filipinos.

” The advantage of opening a business these days is that rental is a way lower and that urged us to expand our business in Dubai to create more jobs in this trying times. Sabi ko nga lagi, while a lot of companies are downsizing, OTH will focus on expanding”, expressed Rolly in an interview.

“OTH has always something new and unique to offer since day 1. All this success is safeguarded by our faith and values among partners and investors and we share it to our clients. Not just the taste but the love we give to every customer”, Mr. Brucales quoted.

There are 3 branches in Dubai located in Diera, one in the Dubai Mall and the recently opened restaurant in IBN Batuta.

Other branches in Abu Dhabi are the Airport Road branch, Navy Gate, at Deerfield Mall, Yas Mall, Galleria Mall and one branch in Al Ain.

POWER signs MOA with Al Nakheel Hotels to strengthen Filipino hospitality sector

ABU DHABI – A memorandum of agreement to strengthen the hospitality skills for the overseas Filipinos was made into formal signing between POWER Technical Training Center and Al Nakheel Hotel & Apartments in capital just recently.

A capsule of both entities’ intention is to work hand in hand in promoting the technical education and skills development of the students by providing the right training and experience in the tourism sector through a structured practicum, internships and on-job training program.

“We are strengthening the learning process of the hospitality skills for our students and by partnering with Al Nakheel Hotels we assured that implementing the program will meet the desired output”, expressed Engr. Jamabel Mahan, CEO of POWER.

Twenty-five Filipinos from different career & fields who have finished the 6-month International Caregiving program were enlisted for an On-Job training in Housekeeping and Food & Beverage department at Al Nakheel Hotel Apartments. A 30-hour on-site training is required for each trainee as one of the requirements of the caregiving course.

“We are always happy to support the Filipinos, especially the students of POWER Technical Training Center. We will try our very best to be able to contribute and spare any effort to help fulfil the ambitions and dreams of people (students) who are looking for better future”, grateful Mr. Ghassan Nehme, General Manager of Al Nakheel Hotel in Abu Dhabi.

 

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding was formally signed between two parties last month at Al Breem Restaurant and was witnessed POWER’s Academic Director Ms. Arlene, Sales Manager Philip D. Esteves Jr. and invited guests.

 

 

Filipino Learning Organization is turning 1 year

Over 3,000 OFs have enrolled short courses with FLO within a year

Abu Dhabi – Since it was founded in August last year by few determined Filipino professionals whose vision is to empower and uplift careers & welfare of Filipinos through providing training & short courses, the Filipino Learning Organization (FLO) is proud to reckon its more than 3,000 graduates of different short courses, which latest batch will receive their certificates of completion this coming Friday, September 1 in conjunction with the 1st Anniversary celebration.

” We are happy that after a year, FLO has been able to stay true to its main objective of upgrading and enhancing our fellow OFWs’ knowledge and skills through continuous training. A lot of them came back to FLO with a testimony on how the organization  have helped them, changed their careers and found them new opportunities”, expressed Christian Cruz, FLO President.

Christian also shared a story of a graduate in Graphic Design course who became successful in the online business and credited the triumph to the opportunities given to him by FLO.

 

“This kind of story, and other similar testimonies encourages us to work harder and  make the FLO advocacy & program be more successful. There are bumps along the way, but our firm commitment to the organization’s vision and mission will ensure a continuous effort for the benefit of our compatriots and the Filipino community”, he said in an interview.

The 1st Anniversary celebration’ theme “Head Turner” came with the idea that because of the knowledge and skills gained from training or courses they have become confident in terms of competency and in turn noticeable to the eyes and attention of employers.
