Etisalat beats LA Hospital 81-55 at CBL 1st Inter-Company torney

Abu Dhabi – It doesn’t matter how the game started or what numbers are registered on the tally board as long as enthusiasm and energy are  clear on players momentum while at the basketball court.

The equally skillful teams , Etisalat and LA Hospital were at peace chasing their scores fluctuating at a minimal difference of 3 and rose to tie the figure in Q2 32-32 of the CBL 1st Inter-company Basketball tournament held on Friday, April 21 at the International Community School Abu Dhabi.

The 3rd quarter favored Etisalat although its contender rally good shots at the beginning but has not outscored the former putting them to an 8-point underdog.

Etisalat pegged a 52-40 at the end Q3 and continued to shine through the last tick of the clock and won the elimination game leaving its contender a 26-points away their chances.

Abu Dhabi – In honor of Autism Awareness Month, The Mall World trade Center Abu Dhabi and Qiwi Technologies LLC -Robotic for Autism team will launch a fashion show dubbed Strutters and Cosplayers – “Different Not Less” at 3pm today, 21st April 2017 at the mall’s ground floor.

This is open to public!

In an interview with Ms Lilac Schonberg -GM/VP for Business affairs, she clarified the quote “Different Not Less”.

” Different not less is tag for people with disabilities. specifically for autism.The society always thinks that people with autism are not normal, that they are less and those who are different as being less, or that people who have disabilities are less deserving of employment, independence, education, and friendship”, she explains.

“This event want to prove that what NORMAL kids can do,the SEN can do it too!, stressed Lilac adding that the event will show to everyone that people with disabilities are NOT less valued or NOT thought to be expendable and less than deserving of life.

Abu Dhabi – The Community Basketball League (CBL) will launch its first Inter Company basketball tournament featuring teams like Etisalat, Daman, Etihad Airways, LA Hospital Management, Gulf Diagnostics, NPCC, IL Forno, and a bank company.

Opening of games and tip-off will happen on Friday, 21st April 2015 at 8:15am at the International Community School.

Abu Dhabi – About 80 members of the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers (PSME – Abu Dhabi Chapter) converged at the General Assembly on March 24, 2017 at Cristal Hotel in capital in conjunction with PSME Seminar on Energy Saving using VSD system.

‘’May today’s assembly and team building workshop reinforce precision and reliability in your workplace whether you are in the public or private sector’’, he added.

At the same junction, a conferment and awarding of plaque for PSME Fellow Award hosted by the society was formally taken a segment in the program.

Engr. Roy Alcoriza received the plaque manifesting one of the highest awards of PSME which is given by PSME National to an active regular member of acknowledged eminence in the mechanical engineering profession and has rendered outstanding service to the society, community and country.

‘’To be awarded as Fellow is a privilege and opportunity. My services and imparting of technical knowledge and expertise with co-mechanical engineers doesn’t stop after receiving this award. It entails a great responsibility to continue to be an instrument and inspiration to other Filipino engineers to work hard and upgrade themselves in their profession’’, said Engr. Alcoriza in an interview.

The PSME Abu Dhabi chapter has already 3 Fellow awardees to include Engr. Sayed Mamayog, PSME Abu Dhabi Charter President Engr. Antonio Morales and Engr. Roy Alcoriza. They have served the society as presidents and lecturers of technical courses.

For Engr. Antonio Morales who received the PSME Fellow award in 2013 during the 3 rd PSME Middle East Regional Convention in Dubai, he applied for qualifications to the distinction and submitted his credentials, experiences documentation and involvement in the community from years 1991 to present.

‘’ I have been a member of PSME in Saudi Arabia in 1991 and served as board of director and convention speaker. When I moved to UAE in 2003, I initiated the registration of PSME Abu Dhabi chapter to PSME National and was a charter president which mission include to promote membership for the society’’, expressed Engr. Morales also saying that as a Fellow awardee he will remain to be a role model Filipino mechanical engineer.

The day’s endeavor of PSME was geared towards imparting knowledge about globalization where topics are in line with innovations of technology within the field and the challenges that Filipino professionals face with the global demands.

Delegates of the seminar were faced with the question ‘’What professionals should do to cope with the issues of globalization?’’ and ‘’How to Think Globally while Acting Locally?’’.

Result-driven workshops were integrated in the sessions.

 

HR Society in UAE holds team building and learning journey endeavors

Members of the Society of Human Resource Professionals and Associates or SHRPA holds its first of the many series Learning Journey and Team building event on March 31, Friday at City Seasons Hotel in capital spearheaded by its Learning & Development (L & D) committee.

The day’s session was integrated with variety of team building initiatives to strengthen the relationships among Filipinos whose inclinations are in the human resource (HR) sectors and admin.

“Our objectives for the gathering is to learn and understand the transformation and growing demand of HR in businesses; to enhance leadership and management skills in addressing day-to- day HR issues; and learn the challenges of becoming global HR and the importance of having HR professional certification”, SHRPA President Jay-Mar Ismael told Kabayan Weekly in an interview.

Topics highlighted in different sessions focused on HR & Admin professional mapping, HR as a Leader and Strategic Career Management & HR certifications. Invited speakers took the lead to impart the basic information, recent updates and the future demands of the field.

“Anyone can become an HR person, which doesn’t require him/her to finish an HR degree”, he said stressing that as long as an individual has the commitment and dedication to lead as an HR staff, he/she could even take further certifications to become a professional HR.

“The role of SHRPA is to help aspiring Filipino HR professionals by means of preparing them for international exams, giving them free seminars and coaching methodologies”, Mr. Koska mentioned in an interview.

The group is not an accredited training provider but will be an avenue for members to get a thorough review in preparation for international HR exam and it has for its mission to target a 95% passing rate for their members taking the exam.
