IECEP UAE holds technical seminars on Access Control systems and Dynamic Lighting

Abu Dhabi – The Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines – United Arab Emirates Chapter (IECEP UAE) held its 3rd Technical Seminar highlighting Access Control systems, the overview of Dynamic Lighting and topics on Organizational development for community leaders, which sessions were held on July 6, 2018 at Hotel Novotel Al Bustan in the capital.

Attended by more than 100 members of the organization composing the PECE, PEE, ECE, ECT, and Associate members, the technical seminar earned them 8 CPD (continuing professional development) units for the professional license requirements of Professional Regulations Commission (PRC).

In the morning’s program, Philippine Embassy’s Chargé d ‘Affairs a.i. Rowena Pangilinan-Daquipil gave her keynote message and congratulated IECEP UAE for being world class professionals and home of achievers.

She thanked IECEP UAE for the continuous support and participation of the chapter to the Filipino community and Bayanihan Council, especially during the 2018 Philippine Independence Day Celebration.

At the same juncture, a recognition was given to the IECEP UAE founding president Engr. Jethroefel E. Ramboyong, PECE, ASEAN, ACPE for bringing home the 2018 Bagong Bayani Award (POEA and Bagong Bayani Foundation) and was chosen by PRC as the 2018 Outstanding Professional of the Year in the field of Electronics Engineering.

Another recognition was given to the IECEP UAE candidate, Engr. Alyssa Jane M. Isana, ECE, for winning the 2nd Runner Up of the 2018 Mutya ng Kasarinlan.

On the technical topics, the “Access Control System – System Planning and Installation” was discussed by Engr. Christopher Q. Acob, ECE. Engr. Acob is Head of Business Unit in Atlas Dynamic with over 9 years’ experience in the security systems sector, had handled mega complex security systems projects in commercial, and government sectors in UAE.

The technical session on “Behind the Scenes of Dynamic Lighting: DMX/RDM Overview” was presented by Engr. Brando P. Valerio, PECE, a Projects Manager presently handling Facade Lighting Project of Blue Water Island in Dubai where the biggest Ferris Wheel in the world is being built.

An important topic geared to enhance organizational & leadership management was tackled by multi-awarded Human Resource professional, Ms. Sugar Espadera in the topic “Organizational Development for Community Leaders”.

She opened the scenario with M. Shawn Covey quote “An empowered organization is one in which individual have the knowledge, skill, desire and opportunity to personally succeed in a way that leads to collective organizational success.”

She asked IECEP members the reasons for attending seminars and answers were aligned to the purpose to develop, enhance, upgrade professional skills, and learn from experienced engineers in the field of electronics and communications engineering.

The event was also graced by Engr. Elmer O. Casao (Bayanihan Council Chairman), Engr. Bernie Favorito (PPO UAE Chairman), Engr. Ronald Precilla (Bayanihan Vice President) and Arch. Rodel Ayala (UAP President) among other guests.

IECEP President Louie Maliksi expressed his gratitude to all the members, officers and volunteers who continue to support the organizations activities, share their knowledge, skills and resources to their Kabayans for the betterment of the Filipino Electronics Engineers in the UAE.
